Zanzibar
Tropical Getaway

General Overview
Zanzibar is a tropical archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, set in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Known for white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and rich Swahili heritage, it is a perfect complement to an East African safari or a stand-alone island escape.
The island of Unguja offers diverse beach regions—from lively Nungwi and Kendwa to tranquil Matemwe, Michamvi, and the east coast lagoons. Snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, and kitesurfing are among the most popular activities.
At its cultural heart lies Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of narrow alleys, carved wooden doors, historic mosques, and former trading houses. Spice plantations reflect Zanzibar’s long history as the “Spice Island.”
For unique wildlife, visit the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, the only place to see the rare, endangered Red Colobus monkeys in their natural habitat; or Prison Island, home to the endangered Aldabra giant tortoises, some of which are over 190 years old.
For added seclusion, Pemba Island offers lush landscapes and excellent diving with minimal development.
Zanzibar blends relaxation, culture, and ocean adventure.
